Guess who’s in this really cool new mag about comics! That’s right! It’s Bill Sienkiewicz and Brian Wood! I’m not joking! In fact, it gets better! There’s also some stuff about writer Kelly Sue DeConnick! It’s brought to you by Christopher Irving, co-founder of Graphic NYC and contributors include comics pros Jamal Igle (Supergirl, The Ray), Reilly Brown (Incredible Hercules, Power Play), Bill Alger, and Madeline Richards. And there’s me! There’s a piece in there about me too, the result of Ben Granoff’s indomitable curiosity and intrepid reporting. We stepped out shared a quick bite to eat during this past winter’s BCGF and had a lovely little conversation with our mouths full. Best part is, if you spend the $1 it costs to read about Sienkiewicz and Wood, you can read all about it for free. And that’s a really great deal! Please check it out.

… sorta makes me want to vomit but maybe that’s just me. Probably. You’ll probably be fine. Besides, what have you got to lose besides your lunch? Plus Alex and Mike are as funny as ever discussing jury duty, raw food diets and do-it-yourself vasectomies among other things. And I actually do, from time to time, manage to string a few words together that form sentences. Go ahead and give a listen. If you feel yourself getting a bit queasy, just turn the volume down a little. That should do it. By the way, this week’s fancy title art (above) was created by the talented Michael Jonathan.
(The show is also available on iTunes!)
Well, we made it. And it went pretty well, too. I joined guests, Daniel Spottswood and Mike Lapinski with hosts Alex Robinson and Mike Dawson. There were plenty of laughs. I even sang a bit of a cappella Led Zeppelin and spoke briefly about showering with strange men at the local city natatorium. There were serious moments, as well, like when we all share some of our professional regrets.
I’ll be at the MoCCA Festival on Sunday, April 10,2011. I’m thrilled to be a guest on a live recording of The Ink Panthers Show (see previous post for details). And between 1:30 and 2:30 I’ll be at Fantagraphics booth (located at tables #J1, J2, K1, K2) to sign books, do sketches and give away some stuff. Please stop by and say hello. I’m proud to say that I will be slinking back into the lair to join Mike and Alex with fellow guests, Daniel Spottswood and Danielle Corsetto for a LIVE recording of TIPS at the MoCCA Arts Festival this weekend, April 9th and 10th. The show starts at 3:30 on Sunday and should be a lot of fun. Planned topics include What Is the Point of Conventions, and What Are Your Biggest Professional Regrets. Please join us!
