Guess who’s in this really cool new mag about comics! That’s right! It’s Bill Sienkiewicz and Brian Wood! I’m not joking! In fact, it gets better! There’s also some stuff about writer Kelly Sue DeConnick! It’s brought to you by Christopher Irving, co-founder of Graphic NYC and contributors include comics pros Jamal Igle (Supergirl, The Ray), Reilly Brown (Incredible Hercules, Power Play), Bill Alger, and Madeline Richards. And there’s me! There’s a piece in there about me too, the result of Ben Granoff’s indomitable curiosity and intrepid reporting. We stepped out shared a quick bite to eat during this past winter’s BCGF and had a lovely little conversation with our mouths full. Best part is, if you spend the $1 it costs to read about Sienkiewicz and Wood, you can read all about it for free. And that’s a really great deal! Please check it out.

I startled myself today when I unearthed this self-promotion mailer while spring cleaning the studio. I don’t remember what I was thinking at the time. Nor do I recall the exact date but I reckon, judging by the amount of hair I have, that it was sometime in the early 90s. Not surprisingly, it did not garner me much work.

I forgot to post here on the old blog about last weeks Cartoon Boy update, a regular gag-a-second fun-fest, but that’s OK because due to some technical work over at the Activate site, there will be no update this week. So why not go and read last week’s episode again! Or, if you are a glutton for pun-ishment start from the beginning. OR if you’ve read all that a few times already, and are jonesing for some Cartoon Boy, maybe check out my comics website and read the original black and white CB strips that I drew and submitted to all the newspaper syndicates back in the late 1900′s! There’s a daily strip adventure (vs. CB’s nemesis, Professor Zygote) and a separate Sunday adventure (vs. The Bearded Lady) as well! (That’s right! I did it as if I actually expected someone to syndicate it to the newspapers! What an idiot!!) Ooo! La! La! I recently received official word that Petey & Pussy will be released in France by the estimable publisher Editions Cambourakis in April of 2012! Details sure to come, moi amis!
